February 15, 2012
The Annual Stream Competition, organized by żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½, awards a talented high-school senior with a full scholarship to the university. This year żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ awarded Chinara Bakyt kyzy, a student at high-school â„–56.
“First of all, there were 30 contestants, who participated in three rounds of the contest, and from 30 people 6 were selected for the finals. They worked very hard during rehearsals for two weeks, and, in the end, we got a very wonderful show,” said Nikolai Shulgin, Dean of Students.
Chinara received a certificate for a full scholarship, and if she passes the żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ entrance examinations, she will be admitted to żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ to begin studying in Fall 2012. Chinara not only sings, but also dances as part of the “Taberik” ensemble. She really wanted to win the contest and the scholarship to żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½. Now she cannot believe she has this kind of opportunity.
“The entire jury noticed that Chinara performed above and beyond the competition. Second place went to Sanjar Sulaimanov, who also had a good performance,” said Ksenia Minkova, art-manager at żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½.
The contest consisted of two songs by each participant. During the event, żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ students also made performances and participated in contests, dedicated to the celebration of St. Valentine’s Day.
It should also be noted that żÃÛ¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½'s Student Senate raised 18,500 soms during the concert. All money will go on treatment of Abdykapar uulu Atai, who contracted a kidney disease, and needs an immediate operation in Turkey.
